We talk about the faith of the president, Michael’s frustration and successes while working in the White House and his recent (super interesting) book. We also discuss our thoughts on adoption, finding the Gospel in gospel music and the future of faith in American politics.

Drop The Stones is a conversation between people who think very differently but choose to be in conversation. Join me every week as we continue to explore matters of faith, culture, religion and relationship in honest interviews with Muslim friends, people in the LGBTQ community, atheists, those who have left the church, pastors, activists… and more.
This week is Michael’s turn.
And Michael is a democrat.
But even though I voted for Obama once, and still think highly of our former president… this conversation is an invitation for everyone, across the aisle, to learn to listen and to find common ground for the sake of our future.
Trump-suporters and Bernie-fans and hard-core libertarians… there’s a place for all of us at the table of Jesus. Shall we have a meal together?
As I wrote in the article, Was Jesus A Liberal Or A Conservative? “Our liberal and conservative agendas are in opposition to the agenda of Christ. We want to make it work… but it just doesn’t. Neither the elephant nor the donkey can represent the lamb.
It’s up to us.
Not to create a new way to be politically Christian, but to follow the politics of Christ.
Come on church, we have to stop this ridiculous battle to try to prove how much better we are at interpreting scripture. We need to eliminate the small divisions of politics and focus on the greater works of Christ. We can be family… even while voting differently.’
